The Merlot It is a black grape variety of French origin, it comes from the Bordeaux area, more precisely from the Gironde area. It arrived in Italy at the end of 1800, in South Tyrol it has been present for over a century, where it has found favorable climatic conditions thanks to deep, clayey soils. It owes its name to the blackbird: in fact, it turns out that this bird loves berries of this variety very much. A ruby red wine is obtained which, with aging, tends to garnet. With an intense, vinous and slightly herbal scent, it can conquer the most demanding palates with a full taste.
